Abortion is safer than having a baby, doctors say

Alright. I just read that pregnant women should be informed that having an abortion is safer than having the baby. In fact the guidance is drawn up by 18 senior gynecologists, nurses and abortion providers.

"Women should be advised that abortion is generally safer than continuing a pregnancy to term."

There won’t be any psychological harm, if the woman decides to terminate her baby. Although rates of psychiatric illness and self-harm in women are higher among those who had an abortion.

Prof Patricia Casey said: “The message this sends out is very worrying. There are more than 30 studies showing an association between psychological trauma and abortion.”

Does this mean people should stop thinking about having babies? I think there are cases in which women are gang-raped & in such cases, they should be allowed to have an abortion & that too if they are willing to have one. No one needs to impose their god-damn opinion on others. I once read about this girl who was being raped by her father on a daily basis & when she got pregnant, she wanted to have the baby, but her parents didn’t allow her. All along her mother kept mum, but she couldn’t stand the idea of her daughter giving birth to that baby.

Prof Patricia Casey is saying there is an association between psychological trauma and abortion; at the same time, there is no evidence in this new study that termination itself is likely to trigger psychological problems. Who should we believe? We are not doctors, medical students & nurses. But if abortion is safer, then what does it imply? People will have babies anyway. In fact those who are not interested too have them, cause they are reckless bastards.They don't care.

Anyhow, the draft guidance from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is for all doctors, nurses and counselors advising women contemplating terminations.

There are times when the baby may have OI or other incurable diseases that may cause a lot of problem in the long run. Abortion is suggested in those cases. I’d like to share one of the passages…this woman had an abortion, but she didn’t feel great about it later on:

“Here’s what no one tells you…When you deliver a fetus, you get a death certificate, but not a birth certificate. And afterward, your milk comes in, & there’s nothing you can do to stop it. You can’t win. Either you have the baby & wear your pain on the outside, or you don’t have the baby, & you keep that ache in you forever. I know I didn’t do the wrong thing. But I don’t feel like I did the right thing, either…They gave me a choice & even now I wish they hadn’t.”

I’m not trying to make this write-up dramatic. Different people will look at the same situation in different ways.

Playboy Icon Getting Married For The 3rd Time

Playboy icon - Hugh Hefner has announced that he is all set to marry once again. Hugh is going to marry for the third time with his 24 year old girl friend Crystal Harris on June 18 this year. Hefner is 84 years old at the moment. Crystal Harris was Playboy Playmate of the Month in December 2009.

He has told that he will have a very romantic wedding with Crystal in his mansion. His brother will be his best man and his two young sons will be the groomsmen. While Crystal's best friend will be her maid of honor and her two sisters will be her bridesmaid.

Hugh Hefner is the founder of Playboy magazine and Crystal is one of the Playmates. Hefner broke the news for the first time on his twitter account which has more than 420,000 followers that he has proposed Crystal on Christmas Eve. 

Hugh married the first time round with his his college sweet heart in 1953 but they got divorced in 1959. His second marriage was with Kimberly Conrad who was also a Playboy Playmate. He divorced her in 2010. Hefner has spent his life with glamor girls. His Playboy Mansion in Hollywood is always filled with Playmates and girls. It is said that now he is too old and is often seen in a night gown in his mansion. He doesn't really meet too many people and prefers to stay in his mansion.

Boy? Girl? Who Cares It's Andrej Pejic!

Seems like Andrej Pejic is indeed quite a sensation in the fashion world now. People are not sure if he prefers to be a girl or a guy but he says he is maintaining a balance and has not had any surgeries as yet. Whatever, he is I like his attitude on the ramp and in the photo shoots both as a man and as a woman. As a model he is quite interesting and impressive!

I loved his grand ma ... she is too cute! And the people in his village seem to tragically shocked at Andrej's transition.

Kolachi - Pakistan's 1st Science Fiction Movie

Kolachi is another interesting addition to our local cinema. It is Pakistan's first science fiction movie. The trailer has been released virally and has created quite a positive stir amongst Pakistanis and movie lovers. The film will go into production in April 2011 and will be released in 2012.

Kolachi's story is written by Summer Nicks - a Pakistan based Australian filmmaker.  The director of the movie is Mansoor Mujahid. The star cast includes Meher Jaafri, Summer Nicks, Hisham Aziz, Moiz Badshah, Akbar Islam, Saqib Khan, Fawad Khan and Shahroz Subzwari.

Kolachi is about Karachi that can exist five minutes from now or five years from now.

This is what the director said about Kolachi:

“The Karachi we are aiming at is a cross between New York and Iraq. If we look at what has happened in the city in the past few years, we find that a lot of foreign investment is coming but our basic ethnic and sociopolitical issues have not been resolved as yet”.

“The film is about how all the issues from target killings to bomb blasts will eventually erupt into a bigger issue that Karachi will have to face. So, largely it is about concerns that will eventually lead the character of this city to apocalypse,” .

John Milton’s work bound in human flesh

This sounds pretty sinister but it has been a shocking revelation. A closer inspection of this 1852 edition (Paradise Lost) has revealed that it is bound with human skin.

George Cudmore poisoned his lover Sarah Dunn with a potion of roasted apple and milk, laced with arsenic. He was sentenced to death & was executed in front of people. His body was later sent to the Devon and Exeter Hospital for dissection where his body was stripped of its flesh and a portion of his skin fell into the hands of a Mr. W Clifford, an Exeter bookseller. That skin was used to bind Milton’s Paradise Lost & the volume will now go on a public display as a part of crime & punishment exhibition very soon & this will also feature further discussions on executions & witch trials.

By the way, Paradise Lost is considered Milton’s best work.

Grandma becomes the oldest surrogate mother

This has been an amazing story. Pamela Butler’s daughter Nichola was not medically able to give birth, which is why her mom became the oldest surrogate mother in Britain. She is 57 year old.

Pamela gave birth to a healthy 5lb 12oz Josef by Caesarean section in August. And Josef is a very cute boy.

Although Mrs Butler was worried about her age but she wanted to help out her daughter.

‘It was the greatest gift I could have given her. It’s wonderful to watch her being a mum now. The doctors were wonderful and very reassuring. Luckily it was an easy pregnancy and it was the most wonderful moment when Nichola held her son for the first time. It didn’t feel like he was my baby but it was just that I was carrying him for Nichola. I babysit for him sometimes and he’s just a wonderful little lad.’

The risk for pregnancy increases with age. If you’re 35 or above, then you must decide carefully to become a surrogate mother. Anyway, this must have been a miracle for Nichola & her husband. The couple went through 4 fertility treatment, cause 3 times it just failed.

Nichola knew that she would not be able to become pregnant as her womb didn’t develop properly. At 1^st she & her husband thought of adoption but then they decided on surrogacy.

Earlier this month, a court issued a parental order legally recognizing Mr and Mrs Pagett as Josef’s parents, as in England and Wales, at the moment of the child’s birth, the surrogate mother is also the legal mother.

I think this story is a ray of hope for all those people who don’t have kids. The desire to have kids is very natural. It doesn’t matter if you’re a fan of kids or not. Having your own child is a different thing. I think Nichola is one lucky woman & her mom made her dream come true. What more could you ask for!

Another case of honor killing

Well I just read this story of a 20 year old girl named Noor al-Maleki who had been killed by her father. His jeep rolled over her & not just that, he even injured the other woman Khalaf.

Noor was living with Khalaf & she knew this lady ever since her childhood days. Noor’s parents did not like her American ways. You know the typical things that she shouldn’t wear make-up, tight jeans & such things. They also wanted her to marry a man in Iraq. Her father was mad at her when she got involved with Khalaf’s son. Even her father warned Khalaf that something bad would happen if Noor continued to live with her.

Faleh al-Maleki had been convicted of killing his daughter & committing assault against Khalaf. According to the defense attorney, Faleh just wanted to spit on Khalaf & accidentally ran over the 2 women. This is unbelievable. You are about to spit on someone & the next minute you actually kill your child & seriously injured the other person.

Anyway, this has been characterized as a brutal case of honor killing. This particular girl had been killed in America.

It has been reported that 5000 such killings occur worldwide & experts believe the real number is much higher than 5000. In many cases, you don’t even get to know about the deceased. If a family thinks that a woman has tarnished the image of the family, they believe they have the right to kill that woman.

It’s strange that people live in another country, raise their kids over there & then expect them to marry someone in Iraq or Afghanistan & can’t stand their way of dressing. Honor killing is something that happens every day in our country. Some people actually are living corpses. To them killing their own children is no big deal.

Megan Fox is wearing next to nothing in her soon-to-be released ad. Towards the end, she’s topless wearing just skin-tight Armani Jeans. The full version of the ad is due to air in few weeks. However, the images have already appeared in magazines & billboards in New York, London, Los Angeles, Milan, Paris, Rome & Tokyo & people find those images really hot. I think Megan Fox would make a better model since she cannot act at all.
