Not the sexy battle of wits

I think it’s very easy to hold opinions when we are looking at a thing from a distance. Moreover, we are writers & when someone gives us an opportunity to think dirty, we do. It’s simply human nature.

Anyway, I have 5 celebrities (Rishi Kapoor, Karan Johar, Ranbir, Deepika & Sonam) in my mind & I’m on nobody’s side. Actually what happened on Koffee with Karan hasn’t been digested well. People have been vomiting all over. I think all of them are at fault.

This was Ranbir’s battle & there was no need for Rishi Kapoor to give ultimatum to people. Although I agree that Karan Johar instigates people, but how else would he have masala stuff on his show? And then Sonam & Deepika are not kids. They had a motive & they took that chance & they have very successfully shattered the image of Ranbir Kapoor.

His sexual capacity is in question. Both Sonam & Deepika have painted him as someone who’s only interested in things between the sheets but he’s not good at it. Relationships are not about having big O or finding G-spot. It’s a lot more than that. But Sonam & Deepika have given too much stress on just the little business between 2 sheets. If he was so bad, why didn’t they ditch him? They were also enemies few days ago, but now they are such good buddies. The reason was so simple - they had to lynch a common target. Maybe this has been the greatest thrill they had ever experienced.

Anyhow a guy who is fucking around all the time & ditching women when he gets tired of them should expect the wrath of women to fall on him any time. And Ranbir had been struck badly. What a pity he didn’t know that all women are unpredictable bitches! But I still don’t see as to why Rishi Kapoor had to jump in. And Karan Johar needs to learn some manners whereas as Deepika, Sonam & Ranbir need to watch Guzaarish. Although I don’t think they can understand what it’s like to be sexually starved for 14 years, but still they need to work on something known as human emotions rather than satisfying their egos & that too in public. Indian writers have been telling us that sex can be used to expand love or shut it out & all desires are spiritual when seen to their deepest level. These 3 kids need to read stuff or keep their damn mouths shut, cause on a mental level, they are not at all sexy.

Rishi wants Ayan to choose between Ranbir and Karan

Nadira Didi, this is some more update on the Rishi Kapoor and Karan Johar episode. Looks like Rishi Kapoor has taken this to the heart and now the Kapoors are putting up an unncessary fight. Just check the old pic of the Kapoors with Karan himself :)

After the success of Ayan Mukerji's directorial debut Wake Up Sid, it was pretty much certain that Ayan would once again be directing close friend Ranbir Kapoor and that too for a Karan Johar production. However, that seems highly unlikely now especially after an episode of 'Koffee With Karan' featuring Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone that has not gone down too well with Rishi Kapoor and his family members.

By now its common knowledge that both Rishi and Neetu Kapoor are mighty upset with Karan for the way he conducted that particular episode of 'Koffee with Karan'. Now Rishi has even gone ahead and given young Ayan an ultimatum that he either chooses to work with Ranbir or Karan. Ayan was instructed in clear terms that if he wishes to direct Ranbir he will have to find another producer.

Rishi has even gone on record and said that his family of Kapoors will not work in any Dharma production film as of now. While Karan is known to play mediator to many fights within the film industry, it remains to be seen who will play mediator this time around in this big fight.

Priyanka has a new boyfriend???

Sahil Shroff, a model from Mumbai might be the new man in Priyanka's life, who is also playing a supporting role in Farhan Akhtar's Don2. Sahil has done several top commercials in the past and also one of the contestant in the reality TV show, The Amazing Race Asia. The chemistry between the duo is pretty visible on the the sets of Don 2 form the day one itself.

According to a source, "Priyanka and Sahil get along like a house on fire. They are very good friends. Don 2 is Sahil's first film and the actor was struggling for a bit to come to grips with the demands of this mega-project." "We hear Priyanka gave him tips and helped him get a few things right."

Anushka: BAND BAAJA BAARAAT is a very important film for me

Anushka understands that this is a very important film in her career, especially so since not just BAND BAJAA BAARAAT presents her in an altogether different light when compared to her first two films but also promises to register a hat trick of successes if it clicks at the box office.


"Yes, there is no denying the fact that this is a very important film for me", Anushka nods in agreement here; "This is one film where I have thought about a lot. When compared to my first two films, there is too much of me out here, which only makes it further special. Right through it's making, my mind was constantly occupied just with this film. The entire experience of working on this film has gone so deep down in my psyche that I can speak anything about it now; I am so clear about every aspect of it."



Despite RAB NE BANA DI JODI with none other than Shah Rukh Khan behind her, she hasn't quite marched ahead in the race.



"I agree with that. However, this also has a lot to do with the visibility factor. The thing is that I am not very big on PR. No, I am not trying to make a statement that I am not doing too much PR but then the fact is that I am a little uncomfortable when things are written about me which don't have much gravity in them. Last night I heard her saying on TV along with some guy that they don't mind dancing on weddings. And if the budget allows they would arrange other stars to join the floor as well. This dancing thing was introduced by people like Salman Khan. SRK & Akshay made the most of it. And I don't know if they are still dancing for money. Malaika Arora, Priyanka Chopra & Lara Dutta were not that well paid when I read about this. But these stars can actually do anything for money. The idea itself is hilarious, but they don't mind at all.

Newcomer Akshay Oberoi

Akshay Oberoi is Vivek's cousin & he is making his debut with Rajshri Productions' 'Isi Life Mein.'

Drawing similarities between him and his character, he said: "The character is very similar to the real me, so I really relate to him. In college I was in theatre. I also have the same ideologies in real life. The only difference is that in the film this guy has a temper, but I'm not like that."

Akshay, who has done his Bachelors in theatre from Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, went to Los Angeles to study theatre at the Stella Adler Conservatory. He has also studied theatre under Hollywood actors - John Astin and Sean Astin from 'Lord of the Rings'.

In spite of being a qualified theatre person, Akshay was always clear that his ultimate destination is Hindi films.

"My dream has always been films. Although I love theatre I wanted to be in films because I am a great fan of Hindi cinema. But I realised very early that a right training ground for an actor is theatre. It gives you the technical skill of being an actor. It makes you understand emotions and I feel that I made the right choice by taking this path."

Sanjay Dutt gave Manyata a Rolls Royce Ghost...I cannot think of any other title, because I do think the pics are absolutely fabulous in a very sarcastic way. And no one has to agree with me.

I'm so sorry to say but the car doesn't go with Manyata or Sanju Baba. It's another thing they can afford it. I think this particular car has been abused. I'm glad that it's not a living thing or it would have given us headaches.

And what the hell is Manyata wearing? Isn't she too old for such chotay chotay dresses? I believe she has insulted the dress as well. I'm sorry but I don't like people who instigate others against their family.

Well I don't know how authentic this piece of info is, as it has been reported in an Urdu daily, so the chances are that it's a lie. Anyway it says that Sanju Baba is going out with someone. If & when the report is confirmed, we will do the dissection with full honesty.

Sanjay Dutt will also be playing the role Kancha Cheena in Agneepath. Rishi Kapoor has been thrown out of the movie, as he made some statements about Karan Johar which Karan didn't like. He accused Karan of instigating his guests against his son Ranbir. I’m sure you guys remember how the 2 exes of Ranbir bitched about him on the show. All of that went out of hand.

However, Sanju Baba is very excited about his role in Agneepath. Hrithik is one guy who hasn't said anything about it. But I saw bits & pieces of Guzaarish & he has grown as an artist for sure. No wonder Shahbana Azmi has become his fan. His student in the movie says, 'Can I give you a hug?" To which he replies, 'I already have enough attachments.' And that actually breaks your heart to know that someone hasn't been able to do anything for 14 long years. We complain about things but some people endure the impossible for so long without even complaining.

Sonu's free musical workshop & much more

Singer Sonu Niigaam has revealed his desire to organise a musical workshop for fans through a series of posts on Facebook.

"How many of you would be interested to attend a live musical workshop to be conducted by me in Mumbai, will 3rd December be suitable for you?": Niigaam posted on Facebook.

"It will be a free workshop open to all... we'll do it only if we have the appropriate strength, location and time we'll inform you here and the date can be worked out based on majority and our convenience."

The singer was overwhelmed by the response from his fans.

"Everyone, the response is too overwhelming. I thought this is something that I'll be able to handle myself with my team. But I guess I'll have to take the assistance of some professional friends to manage so many people and a proper venue," the singer posted.


Abhishek Bachchan says he is glad that he didn't have to look down at Deepika Padukone while shooting Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey', because she is the "tallest" actress to have appeared with him till date.



"Deepika (who is 5' 9") is the tallest of the ladies I have worked with. I could finally look at my co-actress in the eyes and didn't have to look down upon her. It was really nice and tall working with her," Abhishek, who is 6' 3", told reporters in Delhi.


Congrats Abhishek! Never knew that a height of person should be such a big deal that Abhishek will be making statements. But I guess he doesn't have to take a U-turn after saying this.

Responding to a query regarding rumours that Deepika has turned down an offer to work with Shahid Kapoor due to height issues, Deepika said: "If that was the case, I won't be doing any movies at all!"

"If actors suit the character and the film, it doesn't matter if the girl is taller than the guy...So really, if directors start getting bothered by my height, I won't get any film at all."

Freida Pinto accused the media of sensationalizing her comments on Bollywood.

"I never said I don't want to be in Bollywood... Bollywood is like a big celebration. It is wrong to say Bollywood treats women like dolls," Freida said, when a reporter asked her to clarify her statement to the media earlier, where she had allegedly said she wanted to avoid roles in typical Bollywood films.

"The media picks and chooses what people say. There are slots in newspaper which they need to fill with sensation. You put people like us in a tough position," said Pinto.

She also chided the media for equating Bollywood to Indian cinema. "Bollywood is a part of Indian cinema. There are other alternative cinemas in India too," Freida said.

She has also had enough of big budget films - 'Slumdog Millionaire' and the Woody Allen venture - for the moment and now wants to do "realistic cinema" for a change.

"A film has to satisfy you. I don't want to do that kind of a film again right now. After two big budget films, I am looking at doing more realistic cinema," Freida said.

She said names in cinema like Stephen Spielberg were not a big draw for her and that she would love to work even with debutants who were making films on interesting subjects.

R. I. P Leslie Nielson

This has been a great loss. I liked his comedy, cause he could certainly make you laugh like mad. The Naked Gun film series was so much fun.

He died at the age of 84 on November 28th. I think he was one of the best comedians.

Woman adopts 1,500 stray dogs

A Chinese woman has given up her job, her home and her car to adopt more than 1,500 stray dogs.

Ha Wenjin gave up her business career and sold her house, car and jewellery to set up her unofficial dog rescue centre in Tangquan County, Nanjing.

“At first I did this in my spare time, but as I gathered more and more abandoned pets, I had to work full time for them,” she said.

She has taken on 10 workers to help her look after the dogs – and another two to help care for 200 adopted cats at a second centre she has set up nearby.

But her project was place at risk when local government officials, who don’t recognise her work, reclaimed the land for redevelopment.

“I had to find a new place which was deserted and not close to any human habitat, as 1,500 dogs are not silent,” she said.

“And the place had to be very cheap to rent, as most of our income comes from donations.”

Finances are so tight that she partly relies on volunteer days when people bring hundreds of ‘pork buns’ to feed the dogs.

Ha eventually found a site, in Houyu village, Pukou County, but desperately needs funds to get the new animal rescue centre up and running.

And she is hoping more volunteers will turn out help her go the dogs on four buses on 4 December – and to clean the vehicles afterwards.

God bless Ha Wenjin! This is really very impressive. Not many people give up on everything & work on such causes! I’m sure idiots must have labeled her as a mad woman.

Btw there are around 9 or 10 families in Karachi who are also looking after more than 40 cats. I think if everyone who claims to be an animal lover adopts even one stray that would make a hell of a difference. And if you can’t provide home to a stray, at least get one animal spayed or neutered…that would help a lot in the long run.

Anyway I’m glad we still have people like Ha Wenjin & my mom, cause I wouldn’t have done anything for animals without her support. Even though she’s a dog person, but she knows how to deal with just any animal & they all fall for her immediately.

At the same time, I also know some breed conscious people who just want to have fun in the name of working for animals. They do nothing, except big talk. I’ve never been a part of such projects, because it’s all about fun & flirting. And not a single person looks at himself before thinking about fun & very badly they mutilate the very concept of fun altogether.

Help Greyhounds in Spain

In Spain every year 50,000 Greyhounds are brutally killed. They are being used for hunting small animals, but if they don’t satisfy the bastards (farmers & hunters), they are being killed. These dogs live in deplorable state while they are alive. They are being used for hunting, but they get little food from their owners. And every year, after hunting season, these animals are killed in a variety of ways.

In short, Spain is living hell for dogs.

This is how they are being tortured to death:

1. They are being hanged on trees & the animal may take hours to die
2. They chop off their legs
3. They are being starved to death
4. They don’t put down the animal in a humane way (injections are expensive)
5. They are also being drowned in wells
6. The hunters believe the more a dog suffers, the better it is
7. They either set fire on the dog or abandon him in the woods

It sounds quite fucked up & cruel.

Animals deserve compassion & respect, not brutality that has no end to it.

There you go, this is one of the next top songs from Bollywood. After Munni Badnaam Huee in Dabangg, this is Shiela Ki Jawani from Tees Maar Khan. The song has gained popularity very quickly and I can see people are talking about it on social sites as well quite often. Many people they are victims of this song because everywhere they go, with whoever they talk somehow, Shiela Ki Jawani is discussed in one way or the other.

Katrina is looking seductive and sexy. She seems to have reduced some weight too.

The songs now are less beautiful or meaningful, rather they are catchy with a mix of english and hindi. All in all, they make good product in the end but I feel these things are still short lived.

The same old story

In the morning I read this report about this Christian guy eloping with a Muslim girl. They are married now & he didn’t have any problem in converting. However, the family of the guy has to move from Baldia Town, but the Christians in that area are not under any kind of threat. Earlier on the girl’s family was quite mad but now the Muslim community is totally co-operating.

I read some really weird statements. Everything that people cannot digest is derogatory & bad.

Baldia Town Parish Priest Father Khaliq Saleem said that the youth should obey the teachings of their religion & get married in their own religious community. And this is not enough. He further said that when a person gets married to someone of another faith, he might think that he is serving his religion, but such types of cases defame both religions.

It’s shocking to hear men of faith saying such stuff. What kind of myopic views are these? How does he know religions are being defamed? I don’t think these men of faith have met God & have taken His interview. How do they draw such conclusions? I’m so sorry to say but religion has become a source of discrimination. Clerics may belong to any religion, but their views are highly myopic.

When you fall for someone & if it’s really genuine love, do you think about the faith of the person? Things just happen. When you’re weighing everything, then it’s more of a deal than love, which is mostly the case. And when someone changes his/her faith, it means that love has been a more powerful force. Or maybe there had been too much pressure & these young couples opt for this sort of option in which converting is no big deal. I don’t know what is weak or strong faith. I don’t even know what is love. What I see here is that 2 people wanted to be together & they didn’t have any problem, but the world has rotten views about everything.

Harrison who is a physiotherapist in that area also criticized that couple & said that they had followed an unconstructive path that had resulted in difficulties for their families adding that it was a dispute between 2 families & not religious communities.

Only time could tell whether it’s a constructive or unconstructive path but yes people will talk. This couple is alive. Thanks to honour killing, many couples are being murdered. I’m sure this entire marriage thing between 2 different communities must be complicated. In fact I’ve seen that in very modern families, people have issues with Shia & Sunni getting married- forget about marrying Jew, Christian or Hindu.

She was named Poopie. I think such a beautiful girl deserves a much better name.

She is 7 years old so she has a lower probability of being adopted but has a lot of good years left in her.

She weighs approx. 17lbs, I think maybe more, EXTREMELY overweight. She needs to be on a diet and in a home with someone who truly loves her!

"No one understands women like Madhur"

Madhur Bhandarkar has finally switched to comedy but his film 'Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji' too has key roles for women like his earlier movies. And actor Ajay Devgn was candid when he said that no one understood women like the director does.

"Madhur has made a great film because nobody can understand women as Madhur can," Ajay said at an event to unveil the first look of the film. Asked to comment on Ajay's remark, an amused Bhandarkar said: "I don't know why Ajay felt this. But of course I know women very well because I have three in my house - my wife, mother and my daughter."

'Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji' is about how life changes for three men with the entry of three women.

Apart from Ajay, the movie stars Emraan Hashmi, Omi Vaidya, Shruti Hassan, Shraddha Das and Shazahn Padamsee. It is slated to hit theatres Jan 28.

In the film, Ajay will be seen playing a man in his mid 30s going through a divorce, when a much younger girl comes into his life and he starts changing himself.

Bhandarkar has earlier made serious women-oriented films like 'Chandni Bar', 'Page 3', 'Corporate' and 'Fashion'.



Emraan Hashmi was a little skeptical about Madhur's Comedy.



"I was initially sceptical about the film. But Madhur (Bhandarkar) has brought in a certain amount of realism even in this genre and that made the film very interesting. So then I was keen," Emraan said.

"The character that I play in this film is not very different from my previous roles but the genre is different. Generally I have played intense, brooding characters, but in this film my character has grey shades with a humorous streak," said the 31-year-old.

The tagline of the film says that men can never grow. When asked Emraan about his opinion on the same, he said: "This is an apt tagline for the film and I completely believe in it. I feel that men usually don't grow up. Women are more matured. Even when men are 30-35, they are still immature."

When asked if his onscreen image ever bother him, he replied:

"All actors have images. You have do the roles that are given to you and sometimes your onscreen image bleeds into your personal life and people start believing that you are that way in your real life as well. But I'm okay with that because roles are roles and people close to me know how I am in reality."

It's Aamir versus SRK again

Bollywood's biggest stars are on a collision course again, and this time it's global projects that will bring them head-to-head. It seems that Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh are both starring in global projects with top Hollywood directors that will release in 2011.



Apparently, both the movies are set in Mumbai.



SRK is believed to be part of the movie adaptation of the book Maximum City by Suketu Mehta, to be directed by Danny Boyle, who took home an Oscar for his work on 'Slumdog Millionaire'.



Aamir, meanwhile, is said to be involved in director Paul Shrader's X-treme City, set in Mumbai's slums.



Slumdog Millionaire was an overrated movie. Anil Kapoor didn't seem natural. I vividly remember the hero & heroine of Slumdog Millionaire. Ms Pinto believes she's very, very attractive.



I'm sure Aamir Khan & SRK will give their best shots. I think you can only know slums if you live in that place. Although the depiction of slums in George Orwell's book Down & out in Paris & London is superb but real life must be altogether another experience for the residents of slums.

Lagi Tujh Se Lagan

My sister N, introduced me to this show Lagi Tujhse Lagan on Colors TV sometime ago. She loved the main character in it called Dutta who plays the role of a gangster in this soap. While the girl is Nakusha who is hiding her beautiful due to circumstances. Somehow, these two will fall in love but their love story is surrounded by difficult and tough times. An interesting thing I read, was that once Nakusha ended up on the streets when she met Chulbul Panday (Salman Khan) who told Nakusha to tell Dutta about her true self and her beautiful looks. So that their love story is based on truth.

In reality, Dutta is known as Mishal Raheja. He is an actor on television working from 2003 after completing his undergraduate studies in business management in the United States. I am glad to read that he was born in 1979, which makes him older than me and many others I know. Otherwise, most people are now much younger than me. He is quite good looking and is the only reason I watch this show. I like to see love winning in the end.

And here you can the infamous, Nakusha's mother. I am so sad I couldn't find a picture of hers in all famous pityful expression. It is funny this woman is always crying without uttering anything. For the time being she has left the soap while her daughter fights her battle of love alone.
