Stop Mainstreaming Anti-Gay Bigotry

The Family Research Council (FRC) is a far-right organization that endorses the work of Paul Cameron, leader of a known hate group and man who called AIDS a "godsend."

Yet the Washington Post thought the leader of the FRC, Tony Perkins, would be an acceptable commentator for its editorial pages on the recent tragic spate of teen suicides caused by anti-gay bullying.

Perkins' arguments are grounded in irrational hate, and when the Washington Post gives a platform to such viciousness, it lends legitimacy to hate.

One of the unwritten rules of mainstream political discourse is that naked bigotry is indecent and unacceptable. Especially given that, when anti-gay bigotry is tolerated, the consequences can literally be deadly.

Tell Washington Post editors Jon Meacham and Sally Quinn to apologize and pledge to stop offering legitimacy to those who base their arguments in hate group bigotry.

We need 15,000 signatures. It will only take a minute, but your sign would mean a lot. Thank you!
