A very fucked up nation

I couldn’t come up with a better title & I don’t give a fuck as to how badly it is taken. The fact is very simple - we, suck as a nation. Yesterday I couldn’t help thinking about the history of crimes committed in this state in the name of religion & humanity. One of the reasons why I stopped writing letters in the newspaper on the abuse of laws was that law was one thing & justice another.

Anyhow let’s have a cursory glance - 1st they falsely implicate people in cases of blasphemy due to personal enmity & then the crazy crowd murder those accused in the name of religion. If a clergy orders them to cast stones at a baby left on the stairs of the mosque just because he thinks the baby is illegitimate, no one thinks but does what any beast would do. In the early 80s, women were forced to parade naked in the village of Punjab by some landlords. Lately people started burning & lynching thieves/robbers. What is the justification for carrying out these heinous acts?

Different sorts of stories are circulating about those 2 innocent boys. At first they were thieves & the mob got so angry that they thought torturing & murdering them in broad daylight was neither a crime nor sin. Now the new story is that they shot a guy. People took them to 1122 rescue service to hand them over to the police…when the police didn’t make it on time, they decided to lynch the boys in their anger. (And I don’t understand as to why everyone is so angry all the time in Pakistan that they go around burning houses, petrol pumps, buses, cars, & now even humans?) It’s like providing justification for the wrong done to someone else. They are not ashamed of killing 2 boys in the month of Ramazan….they are providing fucking justification for the sin that they all committed. If someone is guilty, you hand over that person to the police. The court decides as what should be done. No religion or law allows any human to punish another being.

It’s a sure sign of doom when innocent boys of 15 & 17 are being lynched by the mob & nobody does anything to stop it. On top of it, silent spectators had the time to make videos (on the cell & camera), & take photos. I’ve lost my faith in this nation. However, I give points to all those who are protesting against this act of brutality. Signing a petition will not bring them back, but speaking against evil is what is required of every responsible citizen.

They were not just beaten to death with the help of iron rods & wooden sticks. They were hung upside down like animals who are being slaughtered. Some people continued beating them even after they were dead. Now they are coming up with different stories filled with lies.

Some insensitive people are still lost in their own world. Some insensitive people are saying that they didn’t look like Hafiz-e-Quran. How low can you get! Some are saying that it was the sins of their parents. It’s very disgusting on the part of people to go on judging & passing insensitive statements. One question has been raised by many, which is: if they were guilty? Even the guilty ones deserve a chance to prove their innocence. They weren’t provided it. The verdict was passed by a mad crowd.

I’m so sorry to say but the people of Pakistan are not illiterate, they are genuinely mad.

Anyhow if you haven’t signed the petition as yet, do that now.
