Happy Belated Father’s Day!

Happy belated Father’s Day to all the deserving fathers in the world! I’m so sorry I could wish you guys yesterday. But there are days when one wants to stay away from the blog. But I do hope you all had a brilliant time with your kids.

Anyway, I didn’t know anything about the history of Father’s Day & here it goes: In 1909, a Mother’s Day sermon at church inspired Spokane resident Sonora Smart-Dodd – one of the 6 children being raised by a single dad to honor her father. She encouraged local churches to institute the 1st Father’s Day observance the next year & the idea has since caught on. Father’s Day became a national holiday in the US in 1972 when President Richard Nixon declared it to be the 3rd Sunday of June.

About my father, I could just say that he was so full of life that he must be having a ball of time even right now wherever he is. I also read something really beautiful about fathers: The greatest gift I ever had, came from God. I call him Dad!

Other than movie stars, I rarely find anyone sexy. Although we keep on hearing stuff like geeks are sexy etc, etc; & we also come across people who claim themselves to be sexy & what not, but quite honestly, we hardly see sexy people around us. But fathers who genuinely take care of their kids are indeed charmers. Dustin Hoffman & Aamir Khan played really cool dads. Unfortunately I can’t recall the names of those 2 films. And I don’t like guys who are mean towards kids. It’s nothing manly; it’s something really ugly. And men who physically & sexually abuse their own kids are I don’t-know-what, cause I can’t even think of using abusive language for such despicable beings.

It’s really unfair that good fathers die & bastards live forever. I hope my mom doesn’t read it but I’ve always liked Papa more than her: P Had he been alive, it would have been so much fun to have arguments with him. He had what you call a personality. He wasn’t afraid to take stand against the government when it was wrong; that’s one thing that I have always admired about him. He was suspended for 8 years & then he won the case against the god-damn fucking government. I’m really proud of him. Of course he had faults, but then who doesn’t have them? If Ammi & Papa had been friends with each other, I guess it would be too perfect & such things don’t happen.
