Missed it all

The situation in Karachi is not getting any better. It has become a city where bomb blasts happen every now & then. Suicide bombing is one the worst forms of terrorism & as we all can see it has become quite a common thing in our country. Politicians only play the blame game or badmouthing others whenever they get any opportunity. The intelligence agencies so far haven’t done anything to throw terrorists where they belong. And how the catastrophic events have unfolded themselves, it’s obvious that bomb detection & disposal squads are also not properly equipped. Karachi is not actually burning or bleeding, it’s dying slowly & gradually.

We always have corrupt governments & corrupt politicians. Some badmouth, some keep on thinking about revenge. No one does anything concrete. It’s not the job of a common man to make things right. It is somebody else’s job, but they are all deeply lost.

Coming to people, they too don’t miss any opportunity of jumping whenever they can. For instance, they are all jumping on the verdict passed against Dr. Aafia Siddique, but most of them won’t even be aware that there are Pakistani citizens like Faran Khan who was murdered by racists. While shooting for some Fear Factor sort of a programme, another Pakistani guy also died. He jumped in the lake, & he drowned, but there was no one to help him. There should be some protest, but there isn’t.

We don’t know the real story of Dr. Aafia Siddique. She has American nationality & she’s basically Afghani. Whatever we know could be lies, because nothing makes sense. She has been married twice & both the men are on trial as well. Her 2nd husband happens to be the nephew of the man who was the planner of September 11th. So the fact is that she got married twice & both her husbands have been extremists & more importantly, nobody seems to notice it. It won’t be incorrect to say that she used to move around in that kind of extremist circle. It was also easier for her uncle to get in touch with the Taliban. She is not a medical doctor, but a neuroscientist. What’s the need of a neuroscientist in Afghanistan in the 1st place? When the verdict was passed against her, she very smartly said that she knew who is behind it. The rest of the time, she suffers from memory loss.

It has been alleged that Musharaff handed over this lady & many others to America. If the state does that, then there ought to be histories about those people. Women have been involved in terrorist attacks; this is not a far-fetched idea. People were also against Musharaff when he took action against that Lal Masjid episode. Keeping weapons in a place of worship is not right.

In a way, I think the media too is responsible for the mess, cause instead of reporting, they only give their views. They add spice to everything. For a long time, we won’t be able to forget that drama of Meera & the media. Why was it done? What was the need of it? There was a need to create a cheap story at that time, so that people may not notice something else & people didn’t.

I guess the question should invariably be, what did we miss? Even when we have pieces of puzzles, we refuse to solve it. It’s saddening that we are doomed as a nation. It’s very easy to pin-point at leaders, but these leaders come from people. Muslims are killing Muslims & they call it Jihad. But these very Muslims don’t have time to fight against real evil. Why don’t they fight the people who kill infants in our country? Actually they don’t have time for crap. They only have time to kill innocent people.
