Death of a teenager due to sheer negligence

17 year old Rashida Sajid was suffering from stomach pains on Sunday & she died due to sheer negligence on the part of the hospital staff as they gave her the wrong blood type during blood transfusion.

Which reminds me of another incident in which scissor was left in the stomach of a woman during the surgery & later on that woman died. I wonder if anyone has been punished in that case. And let’s see what happens in this one. Justice seems to be a word just meant for the dictionary & arguments. It has no place in real life.

Anyway, the family, relatives & area residents protested & raised slogans against the staff that treated the girl.

The father said that they didn’t know as to why she was suffering. They took her to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital on Saturday & she was given a painkiller. However, the pain didn’t subside even on Sunday. Dr. Bilal insisted for a surgery & he also asked them to arrange for blood. Her blood type was A positive & the family provided 5 bottles. In spite of that, the wrong blood type was given. Very weird! If 5 bottles were really provided, then it’s nothing but negligence on the part of the hospital staff to make this sort of blunder in blood transfusion.

Anyhow, 3 member team has been formed to probe this incident.

Rashida Sajid was just 17. We can’t say anything about the diagnosis. She had stomach pains. 1st she was given some painkiller & the next day, they performed a surgery. That 5 bottles story seems to be an exaggeration. The family is hurt & angry at their loss. Whatever the truth is, nothing is going to bring back this girl. Would the culprits be punished? We don’t know. What we know is that such incidents happen time & again.
