One of my colleagues shared a few videos of Bakraeid. When we watched it together, we did even laugh a bit. Then we said, shit why do we even have to do this? Next, we are like this is not the way how it is supposed to be done.
But, I was so ticked off looking at those videos later. I am sure there are many unprofessional butchers who know jack about qurbani and the way to slaughter the animal in the right way with a sharp knife as quickly as possible so that the poor animal doesn't suffer much.
The misery is this entire concept of doing qurbani has just become very very disrespectful and inhuman. First, when people get these animals there is this showing off parade where mostly people lie about the price at which they bought the animal. In so called posh areas like defence they set up tents to put the animals outside their homes so that as many people can see what you've got this year. And then when the big day comes, unprofessional butchers come in town and slaughter the animals in a brutal way.
One of the videos was quite lethal where even after cutting the poor animal, it wasn't dead because the guy didn't do his job in the right way. The animal was on its feet and going mad in circles.
I had never seen a camel ki qurbani before so have posted the link. There were many videos for camel sacrifice also that seemed very unprofessional.
I don't know what else to say... and this has nothing to do with religious beliefs but looking at many of the videos one can say inhumanity rules here in a big way! And many of the poor animals are slaughtered in a wrong way I am sure.
